Since 1994, California-born Rick Owens has been dazzling the fashion world with his avant-garde take on classic grunge and Goth silhouettes. He began selling exclusively to a Los Angeles boutique, and after a few years of cult success, he left the West Coast for Paris to further develop his dark aesthetic. Aside from his eponymous high-end collection, Owens also produces the casual diffusion line Lilies, and DRKSHDW, a rock and roll-infused denim line. Hallmarks of the designer’s work include abstract prints, draping and asymmetry.
